Review: Bobbi Brown cleansing oil VS Shu Uemura cleansing oil

It’s been awhile since i’ve used Shu Uemura cleansing oil. It all started with my friend bought a big bottle and came with a free miniature and she gave it to me. She was rambling to me how good it was that i just had to try it. As you can see the miniature is quite a big bottle not the super small ones. I have to say i love the size and it’s great for traveling. You just need to use a little and the bottle can last quite long.

I just use it as a make up remover as i have that feeling of it’s not clean enough and worried that my face will be oily (even though it does not feel oily) Basically i’ll double cleansed (re wash my face with a cleanser) After a few times using it, i notice that the make up does not come off as clean as i would like it to be. All this while i was thinking maybe it’s the black eye liner or my super black mascara that i’m using that is just super difficult hard to remove. It always leave a smudgy grayish mark underneath my eyes. So to me at that point i didn’t think much of the product and i was wondering why everyone is so wow about it. I end up trying out my mom’s Loreal  make up remover instead. Affordable and it does the job pretty much the same, in fact at some point i think it was cleaner.

If you are wondering why was i trying out make up remover from everyone? It was because i’ve tried so many times using make up remover and it just doesn’t do the job as much as i like it and i ended up with bottles of them hardly used. So this time i wanted to make sure the brand that i buy does the job well. I’ve tried from over the counter products and branded ones and i’ve got sick and tired of it.

If you are the everyday make up person you want to ensure that you have a good make up remover so that your skin can maintain well, and of course with a good skin care routine that suits you.

All i’m saying is that maybe this product is just not for me. Maybe for some other skin type or someone else have better experience with it other than me.

I used to be a Bobbi Brown fan(didn’t follow their product for sometime) and I remembered long time ago one of my friend told me that they have a good make up remover. One day i pass by the store and decided to check it out. To my surprise the sales was introduced me a new cleansing oil. He told me it’s new in the market and it’s really good. He tested it on my hand. Put some make up on the back of my hand and wipe it with the cleansing oil. It wipes off nicely without leaving the skin oily and no black residue. I told him that it’s just like the Shu Uemura cleansing oil it doesn’t really wipe off entirely when it’s on your eye. He told me, i can try it on you now if you don’t believe me with black eyeliner and mascara. So i told him to bring it on (just another sales tactic i thought)

Well… it did turn out quite well like he said, and i was bought by it. I got myself a bottle Rm 145 and decided to give it a go.

The conclusion, I love it! It does “the job” as i like it and i don’t even feel that i need to double cleansed after using it. No paranoia that makes me feel as if my skin is oily after using it or any dirty black stain under my eyes. For Rm 145 200 ml i would say it’s still a affordable quality buy for a make up remover. I bought mine i think some time mid of last year and i still have half the bottle left (i use it daily) If your not the type that use it daily i think it can even last you longer.

*Unlike Shu’s when you apply the cleansing oil you need to rub and let the oil sink into your skin then then the make up will slowly come off. For Bobbi it immediately comes off after u sprit some on to your hand/skin u can see the make up start to run straight away.

So far this is one of the best cleansing oil (make up remover) i’ve used and it’s worth the investment.

Till next time…
