Capture Ghost/Spirits On Your Camera Phone

Offerings

Hungry ghost festival is around the corner. This year hungry ghost festival falls on August  15-17,2008. The ghost festival is on the 15th night of the seventh lunar month. In Chinese tradition, the thirteenth day of the seventh month in the lunar calendar is called Ghost Day and the seventh month in general is regarded as the Ghost Month (鬼月), in which ghosts and spirits, including those of the deceased ancestors, come out from the lower realm. People will burn offerings for their ancestors and pray on the streets just outside of their house to show a indication for peace. The westerners have Halloween. Basically both are about the same. They celebrate and scare the spirits away at the same time. In some Chinese tribes they would have Chinese opera performing during the festive season, usually about 1 month or whatever the Chinese calendar says. It is to entertain the spirits as a form of charity.

My staff just told me a interesting story. Few days or weeks ago, there was a bus that ram into a pond. Her son’s friend happen to be at the scene. There were a lot of people there, trying to save people out of the bus and all. The friend was snapping photos of the collision and rescue operation. When he reach home and extract the photos into his computer he notice something out of the ordinary. In one of his pictures, there were bushes around the pond and he saw a ghostly apparition among the bushes in broad daylight! Yup, no joke. My staff say she will try to ask the son to download the picture for me to see.

A recent case i think 2 days ago in the Chinese news paper. Someone also capture a ghostly picture with his camera phone. A married couple went on a holiday at a popular waterfall destination over the weekend. The husband had trouble sleeping at night. He just bought a new camera phone and he had nothing better to do he started snapping photos around the room. The wife was sleeping soundly beside him. Until the next morning, when he look at the photos that he had taken last night, he saw a clear apparition of a man. Long black hair, clear face with 5 features and wrap in a burial cloth (kain kafan in Malay). My staff save the newspaper and show it to me. Gives me the chills. The picture was a reflection from the dressing table mirror. If anyone saw the news would have saw the picture too.

These are the latest stories i’ve heard so far. My staff have many encounter with spirits and yet to share with me. We even joke about using our camera phone to snap around to see if we happen to catch anything. To believe or not to believe? If you have any stories or any ghostly encounter do share.

Till next time…
